A Few Words
About the Association
the emperor Haile Selassie memorial association is a non-governmental organization established in July 1995 by very few individuals (24 peoples from the royal families) former civil and military friends of Ethiopia. To exhume the body of late emperor of Ethiopia who was lawful deposed detained assassinated and buried in a disguised place by the brutal military regime that took power in 1974.

In this regard, the association we register with the ministry of justice as a legal entity with the registration certificate umber 9336. After he meticulous exhumation and successful honorary burial of the body of the emperor in the trinity cathedral n February 2000, the founding members of the association envisage pursuing the legacy of emperor Haile Selassie, through expansion f modern education that e worked hard through is reign over half a century. Now the association is re-registered in December 2006 EC. As an Ethiopian resident charity, with civil society agency to work on educational and given certificate number 1181 and its membership have reached over 550. As way forward, the association has developed a five-year strategic plan for 2015 to 2020 as follows.

To contribute towards the government and other NGOs effort in the development of a viable and vibrant economic force commensurate with the demand of the rapidly growing economy of Ethiopia by empowering young people socially and economically marginalized youth with excellent academic records to participate on an equally footing with their peers.

Objective
EHSIMA is managed by board. The board has chairman and deputy chairman. The board members comprises different individual from different backgrounds including the relatives of the Emperor. The board makes all decisions related to the association. Recent decisions by the board include:

  • Promote knowledge and technology sharing opportunities among international learning institutions
  • Develop and disseminate promotional materials, create opportunities for image-building and public support and fundraising.
  • Networking the office work by launching a website.
  • enhancing the participation of the existing members and attracting the new once to join.
  • Disseminating informative brochures and flyers.
  • Campaigning to get more financial, material, and any support that help us achieve our goals.
  • acquiring unlawfully confiscated building and properties by the previous government.
  • Securing a place to build the memorial monument of Emperor Haile Selassie I.
  • recruit 120 students in the scholarship program in 2017/18.
